Every collection tells a story.

Embedded in the famous don't be anxious passage found in Matthew 6:28-33, we are also told to "consider the lilies." We are encouraged to stop and behold how God cares for and clothes inanimate aspects of His creation like lilies in a splendid array. And we are reminded by the lilies and other flowers of the field that if God cares for and clothes them, how much more will He love and provide for us. This is one of the many marvels of God's creation - how He communicates with us about who He is and how He feels about us through small wonders like birds, flowers, and even grass. I pray that the intricately detailed and imagery-rich works in this collection remind every beholder that God sees you; He cares about the tiniest details of your life; and He is holding all things together (Colossians 1:17). You can trust Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

Collection | Consider the Lilies

A collection inspired by my great grandmother, Louise, and her scarf, a love of Scripture, and the enjoyment of gardening she passed down to me. "Considering" is all about noticing, about taking the time to move at a slower pace and take in the wonder of the world around us. When we open our eyes to the beauty and order of God's creation, we develop a heart of gratitude and gain a new perspective from which He can teach and speak to us. My Grandmama modeled this for me as we walked around her enormous yard and talked together after school. Always in her wide-brimmed sun hat, and always pointing me to Jesus in the way she cared for her garden and for me, and in how she both depended on and delighted in God's Word.

Collection | Big Botanicals

This collection is largely inspired by two things: My love for the work of Georgia O'Keefe, particularly her larger-than-life, zoomed in florals, and also my belief that living life at a slower pace, taking the time to notice the beauty and detail in God's masterfully created world is one of the essential components of living with joy and wonder. These "Big Botanicals" are created on variety of surfaces - wood panel, aquabord, paper - and in a variety of mediums - watercolors, acrylic paints, etc. - framed in beautiful gold box frames and ready to adorn the walls of your favorite living space.
